Jeff Pearlman's new tome "Boys will be Boys"

Discussion in 'Sports and News' started by hockeybeat, Aug 31, 2008.

  1. This book sounds like a movie waiting to happen.

  2. That's awful. How does the the guy continue to work in the industry w/o an apology to Aikman or a retraction?
    Why didn't Aikman sue?

Just a small and probably meaningless contribution to this discussion, but take it for what it's worth.

I don't speak for Skip Bayless, but I was his agent for that book. The Aikman material--which passed a rigorous legal vetting--was the result of numerous comments made by others during the course of Skip's research for the book, including remarks from Barry Switzer and others associated with the team. At no point did the book draw any conclusion; it reported that others were openly advancing these rumors.

I don't offer this as a defense or justification, but just to clarify the oft-repeated "Skip outed Troy!" myth.

Barry Switzer . . . yeah, I'd love to go to war in a courtroom based on the Bootlegger Boy's testimony.

    HAHAHAHAHAHA

Dude, I think I've stayed there. But not with Michael Irvin.

I have stayed there. A friend of mine was a manager there at one time (Pre-Irvin I might add).

    . . . an insatiable front-runner, a cabbage -- or a Texan.

    Love it.
