Jealous of a man and his beard? This thread is not about Katie Holmes.

  2. My dad has maintained a Kick-ass Rollie Fingers mustache for almost 40 years.
I am incapable for growing any sort of facial hair that would resemble a mustache, beard, goatee, or soul patch. Plus, for whatever reason, my facial hair is red with flecks of black. Not a good look for a blonde-haired guy.

    FAIL.

My dad has that! His hair is black/REALLY dark brown. His mustache/beard is always red and brown (well now gray too).

I couldn't grow a good mustache and beard until I was about 30, and now I grow them starting every Thanksgiving and shave them off around April 1.

I keep sideburns the rest of the year, though they're still a little thin at the top. And I'm almost 39 ...

Recently voted greatest playoff beard ever.

I had a beard from the mid 70's to the early 90's.

Early on it was full bore mountain man. I eventually shaved it off when my kids were about five and seven and they stared at me for about two days.

I'll admit it, this 5-year-old cried the day my dad shaved off his mustache. Fairly traumatic at the time.

Also, my ex-wife had never seen me without a beard either. She just didn't look at me. :)

I've grown a decent enough beard at times, but the last few times I got the notion, I couldn't get past the itch that sets in about a week to 10 days in. I do, however, have a kick-ass, Joseph Stalin-style mustache that I've had pretty much my entire adult life. In fact, my kids have never seen my bare upper lip and the oldest turns 28 in a couple of months.

My pops has had a beard for as long as I can remember, he keeps it trimmed and maintained well. He still looks better clean shaven.
