    As a Yankees fan this makes me giggle.
    Hopefully the Red Sox now think it will be safe to trade Manny.

    However, it does make Drew look smart for opting out of his deal with L.A. No-one thought he'd get that kind of money when he did it, and yet here he is with 2 more years and a lot more money ($37 mil I think?)

    I read maybe Manny in a three-way trade to the Mariners, who would ship J.J. Putz to the Red Sox. Guess that would solve their closer problems, if it turns out to be true.

    It would solve their closer problems, but it wouldn't solve the giant gaping hole behind Ortiz, who would then be walked like he was Barry Bonds.
