I read the second page of the thread first, and tried figuring out how a discussion of Jayson Williams veered into accusations of gay sex and a takedown/defense of New York City. I was unable to figure out that it started with tax talk.

As a transplant, the no refills thing did take some time to get used to, although if you find a place where you become a regular, refills flow as easily as they do in any Applebee's in the Midwest.

Philadelphia, Detroit, Baltimore, Memphis and D.C are indeed four of the scariest cities I have ever been too. I have been in some bad parts of Houston as well.

Dallas, Columbus and Nashville, however, never struck me as high crime rate cities and I never felt unsafe in all three, though given that Columbus is home to one of Jim Tressel, I can certainly understand the high crime rate figures.......

Applebee's is overpriced shitty food in places like Columbia, Missouri or Lawrence, Kansas, so I am sure in New York, it is criminally overpriced shitty food.......without free refills and a waitress with an attitude problem.

Wow, the fact that HC called you an assclown zag says an awful lot. She's one of the nicest people on this board. Oh, but I love NYC and try to visit my sister there 5-6 times a year and would like to live there someday soon so I must be an asshole.
