Javelin kills track official in Germany

The athlete who threw it is 15. He's receiving counseling.
I remember in 1993 or so there was a kid in New Jersey who took a javelin in the face or the throat and lived.
Are there still some states that don't have the javelin in their track meets for safety reasons?

 

I'm in Michigan and we've never had javelin as far as I can remember.

 

Ohio does not have the javelin, either.

 

Neither does California.

 

Texas had it until the 1960s, I believe.

They ran out of recruits for javelin catcher.

 

When javelins are outlawed only outlaws will have javelins.

 

I think Jarts should be a varsity sport, though. Just to see it sewn on the back of a letterman's jacket.

 

Is the official uniform for Jarts a pair of Jorts?

 

Javelins don't kill, athletes do.
