Has anybody else noticed that when CBS goes to James Brown in the studios to give an in-game report, he always says "paydirt" on the TD highlight? It's driving me insane. Has anybody else noticed it?

"He takes it in to paydirt"
    "Three yard run to paydirt"
    "He walks in to paydirt"

    "Paydirt, paydirt, paydirt."

How about just calling it a touchdown.

  4. I think The House is better, since we're not all 150-year old prospectors.

I live near St. Louis, and the Rams' radio broadcaster always refers to the guy who carries the ball out of the Rams' backfield by "Steven" on the air. Only problem is that the team has two 'Stevens' at RB, and when he unprofessionally refers to everybody on the Rams by their first name, I never know who's carrying the damn ball -- Steven Jackson or Stephen Davis.

If he and James Brown had a child who went into broadcasting he'd say this:

"Steven runs right, three yards -- paydirt!" Meanwhile, I'd scream.

When you see "paydirt" in a gamer from a clueless stringer, then it's time to reach for the noose.

Now, I'm going to ask you a bunch of questions. And I want to have them answered immediately.

We're going to play a game called "Who is your daddy, and what does he do."
