But what if FSU, with a backup quarterback, still beats Syracuse, Idaho, Florida and Miami in the ACC championship?
If they're 13-0, how do you drop them below No. 2?

I didn't realize how absolutely dogshit FSU's remaining schedule is. That's even worse that Ohio State's closing run of Illinois, Michigan and, likely, Michigan State.

The computers may knock them down even if Winston plays.

Ha. No. The Clemson win is worth far more than any victory Ohio State will get.

Which is completely irrelevant to my point.

I imagine there will be huge pressure from certain points in Tallahassee to be sure no charges are filed until at least the end of the regular season. Even so, just the rumors don't make the guy look so great.

i thought sportswriters covered news, no?

Do the rules really differ for soft news? Does the entertainment press hold back allegations of criminal behavior by 18-22 year old actors, actresses and other entertainers? How does Jaemis differ from Chris Brown?

Sportswriters aren't normally covering crime & courts on their down time. You aren't going to read about a sexual assault charge involving a "civilian" in the sports section.

Tallahassee Democrat reports that the reason the case was dropped originally is because the woman did not want to press charges:

Unless there's video, any prosecutor with a care for his or her career is going to conclude that whatever the facts, this one is unwinnable. Victim wouldn't press charges in 2012 and here we are at trial in 2014? Next!!

So if they declined to pursue the case once the victim chose not to press charges, why would it be reopened now - even with the new evidence?

Or was the fact they stop pursuing this not what normally happens when the victim decides not to cooperate?
