    Times-Union Media in Jacksonville, publisher of The Florida Times-Union and Jacksonville.com, is searching for a Jaguars Beat Reporter to cover the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars beat. The qualified candidate must be a talented reporter and writer who can break news, develop sources, turn around timely enterprise stories, produce online blogs and promote the Times-Union's Jaguars coverage through multiple social media platforms. This is a competitive beat that requires aggressive and timely reporting.

    Qualifications (preferred):

    • College degree preferred.
    • Daily newspaper and online experience required, preferably on a high-profile beat.
    • Must have the ability to constantly break news on the beat in a competitive environment.
    • Must have strong reporting and writing skills and the ability to generate enterprising story ideas and develop sources.
    • Must work professionally with the public and while on assignment serve as an exemplary representative of Times-Union Media.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with editors, staff members and readers.
    • Demonstrated computer proficiency.
    • Proficient social media skills are preferred.
    • Out-of-town travel required.
    • Must be able to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
    • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver license, and automobile insurance.

    Not a bad gig. Jax is sunny and inexpensive if you're looking in the right places, and on the job you won't be inconvenienced with Sunday night games, Thanksgiving games or any in late January.
