How not to write a job ad ... oh and somebody should tell them $42K is NOT decent for Toronto.

Do you ever sit at your desk in the middle of the afternoon and drift off into another world – one where you work in your perfect job? You know, the one where you get paid a decent salary, the boss actually knows your name, your creative thoughts and ideas are accepted, even requested and you get to have a little fun while you work because laughter and happiness are not banned. Well, I think we might have something for ya’.

Compound seeks a Campus Media Specialist

    Q: What’s the gig?
A: Campus Media Specialist. You will create and execute an effective media and PR strategy for one of our favourite clients. You’ll need to be somewhat of a Jack (or Jackess) of All Trades, because you’ll be copy writing and editing, developing logistical plans, executing and supervising media events, managing media relationships, preparing and distributing press kits ad releases and researching all the unique and incredible ideas you think up and need to make happen.

    Q: How much?
A: It depends on what you’ve got to offer, but we’re willing to pay anywhere from $32,000-42,000. Show us what you’ve got and we’ll tell you what we think it’s worth!

So did I. Probably not the most effective way to advertise for a job. Although it does catch the eye.

I thought it was Jill of all trades. But I guess Jackess is a Canadian term.

But that's a pretty stupid name, so I can see why they'd avoid it. Though the people who'd work with you, when asked who they keep texting all the time, can respond "idk, my bff jill", so there's something to be said for that.
