J-school prof sends inappropriate messages to student, resigns

    Dude said it "would have been a crime." I took it at face value, and that's all I was referring to.

    No one at the Sun is shedding any tears about this. Monty screwed that paper and its people big time. Not only did he fire half the damn staff, he famously said that one of his career highlights was working on a redesign that, by all accounts, was a seven-figure fiasco. He also rolled in as editor and said, "The days of the multipart series are over," implying that the new Sun would be all fluff, no substance. He harped on the 'digital newsroom,' and by extension, the printed product became a complete mess. He also oversaw the implementation of 'b', a ridiculously inane free rag supposedly to try to lure the 20somethings. Yes, he fired people while they worked at a game, and booted many other good people out the door.
