I've heard a lot of renditions of the national anthem

    This one is definitely in the top 5% of the one's I've heard.

    And yes, I did the requisite search and didn't find a prior reference. If this is a DB, then sue me.

    Great job from a 7-year-old kid.

    My favorite: Huey Lewis & the News, a cappella, 1984 MLB All-Star Game, I think it was.

    I've heard some wonderful versions from marching and pep bands. Though Marvin Gaye's version is high up on the list, as well ...

    Didn't like Gay's rendition, took too long. It's a waltz, it should be more uptempo, keep it moving.

    My fave rendition is a tossup among Carl Lewis, Roseanne Barr and Macy Gray.
