It's spnited, not spirited, and he is one of the oldest people on this board. Pretty sure he has been doing it longer than 30 years.

    I don't understand that statement.
Have you been in it for 30 years?
And my future is retirement in 10 years or less.

    Spnited. Whatever. Thanks for that.

Yeah, I've been in 30 years.

  6. Sounds to me like you're one of the old guard who's having trouble adjusting to change.

Or not. But since you said to discuss ...

Whatever I can do. I like to help members of the old guard be able to read.

You're going to see a lot of this from the "young guard," too, once they realize that even if you pay every due that is asked of you, chances are 20 years down the line you're going to still be covering Podunk High.

Oh, bullshit, Friend. I've never had a problem with change. I love change.

What I hate is organizations that don't realize that change is good.

I also realize, Dan, I've been very fortunate that after 38 years I'm in a good place, I love what I'm doing now and I'm working with the best SE I've ever had.
We've gone through some big changes in the past 10 years and we've got more coming in the next year or so. And I'm just crazy enough to love the idea of finding new ways to do the same old shit.

I wish everybody in this insane business could have it as good as I do right now. And I'm really sorry you don't, Dan

Way to go, spnited. That says it best.

You have the benefit of a great boss. I would kill for a great boss.

    I don't, and that's why I've had enough.

    Boy, how that sucks.

  12. Hey, I added "or not."

You're asking us to discuss your decision to quit the biz. I deal with bullshit, but I still love what I'm doing. I can't speak for anyone else.
