I've been invited to join the Kiwanis. Should I?

Do they still sing the Kiwanis song??

(I had to attend a meeting or two back in my editor-of-a-small-weekly days)

Seriously, if you like the idea of a service organization, and there are other people there you like, go for it. Just pay your own annual dues.

Just in case anyone's curious, you still have to be a Mason before you can be a Shriner. You can't simply become a Shriner.
Masons have more of a religious overtone to them, but most of the Shriner related stuff is fairly secular.

Piss off someone bad enough, and yes, you can go straight to Shiner's Club.

The details around this are unfortunately slim.

One of my buddies dads gave me the full account - a full on sex room, hookers naked except for the Fez, chanting, etc.
