iTunes question

I just got an iPod (8 gig Nano) and downloaded iTunes to manage the music on it.

I want to be able to copy the music on my hard drive into iTunes without importing it (i.e., I want it to remain in it's original folder). iTunes told me that it would move the files into a new location if I wanted to import them. Is there a way to get around this?

You can set a default folder for iTunes, so if you already have all of your music in one folder you can set that folder as the default.
