It's . . . . the best gift I've gotten in quite a few years

Every single TV episode on 14 discs. Plus two discs that feature the Live at the Hollywood Bowl show, the Live at Aspen show (just before Graham Chapman's death), and the reunion show in 1998, when they brought up "graham chapman's ashes" . . and "accidentally" spilled them on the stage. Wouldn't have minded a documentary or two, but the book The Pythons fills in the blanks rather nicely.

Amazon has the DVD set at a nice discount. The philosophers soccer match on the Hollywood Bowl show is priceless.

Another neat thing about Python is that every British rocker of the time adored them. Certainly adds cache to them hat George Harrison, led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd made sizeable contributions to get Holy Grail made. I have a Zeppelin show from 1975 where Robert Plant does "nudge, nudge" at one point, and ends the show by sayng "and watch for the Holy Grail."

    Hey! Hey! You! You!

    Get off of My Cloud!

    Game, set, match, to you.

But it must be noted that I don't live anywhere near Broadway. And seeing the touring version . . meh.

Jan. 6 on B'way. Was supposed to go in Nov. but got scratched by stagehand strike. My sister got new tix, decided none of us had to pay her, it would be XMas gift.

Other sister got tix for this one, Jan. 27

I have that set. It's great knowing any Python skit that happens to cross my mind, I can fire it up.

I am equally excited about what Mrs. Babar got me this year:

The ultimate box set. The pilot and each of the two seasons were for a long time owned by three different companies, so this was a long time in the works. It's packed with extras. I can't wait to dive in.

Thanks for the reminder; I'll have to ask for that for my birthday.

Right after we got married, the wife tracked down the videotape set of the entire series on eBay. Greatest Television show of all time.

Also part of the lot was laura's diary (poorly written softcore porn, really) and Agent Cooper's book.

I"ve got the set released by A&E sometime back... and it's fantastic. Most of my favorite bits are Cleese bits... silly walks, Ken Clean Air System, fruit self-defense, argument shop.

This fits here, so I'll add it here. One of my gifts (along with the American versions).

After several years of always getting some kind of DVD gift ... zero, zip, nada.

But the in-laws gave me a $75 Books-a-Million gift card which I probably can leverage in some fashion.
