Religion is part of the problem, not part of the solution.

The thread title should also read "It's not just Christianity."

This is a "yes and no" sort of thing. Yeah, they are just as loony as extremist Muslims and Christians. But they are relatively harmless. The next time a hassidic jew blows himself up in a crowded nightclub will be the first time. I'm not excusing them. They are loons. But lets not make them into a huge threat to the world or compare them to muslim extremists who have avowed themselves to destroy western civilization.

Skipped it, possibly because it's not about murder on a grand scale. They probably shouldn't be heaving bottles at the cops, but aside from that, they're burning garbage cans. BFD.

Lyman has proclaimed it so, therefore all discussions should heretofore be ceased immediately.

Would you disagree with a thread title: "It's not just Islam that wants to use violence to make others live by their religious standards"? Because in this story, I sure would.

Those standards are a little different when it comes to radical Islam. There is no comparison. But that reality, like the reality that radical Islam is the greatest threat this country and the world have faced in a long time, is ignored for purposes of political correctness. Anyone who doesn't realize this threat is a fool, as are those who call a person anti-Muslim for pointing out the clear and present danger of radical Islam.

    no argument here.

as i phrased it above, the threat comes from those who use violence to impose their morality and lifestyle on others. in the 21st century, radical Islam is by far the prime proponent of this tactic. the ultra-Orthodox jews mentioned in the article, though, are of the same species, though far less menacing. same mindset.

Oh, bull. That's like saying government is part of the problem when an unjust war is started or education is part of the problem when students protest over some injustice or other.
You can pervert any institution that you want.
From the article: "At last year's march, an ultra-Orthodox man stabbed and wounded three participants." No one that's paying strict attention to any legitimate religion ever could justify stabbing three people for walking down "the wrong" street.
