Chilly here, but no snow. Just talked to someone near home who says it's snowing but nothing is sticking to the roads.

The South overreacting to some inclement weather? Say it ain't so.

We do expect the exception to the rule; what time do we need to be here for the "Ask Drunk Moddy" thread's start?

Folks in Middlebama got about four inches, they guesstimate.

No snow in the forecast for us, Gola. Low of 20 tonight, then the winds shift to the south tomorrow and it won't get below freezing for the next 4 days. Chance of showers Monday.

Last year a local school district here in Virginia had about 1-2 inches of wet slop in the afternoon before a cold front was due to roll into the region overnight. The local boys decided not to push the slop from their parking lots when they had a chance. You see, snow never lasts more than 24 hours down here, but this slop froze. It froze damn good. Too good for plows, and snow melt didn't work because it was cloudy and the afternoon temps never rose above 32 degrees.

They had to close schools for three days because the two-inch ice never thawed quickly from the parking lost.

    Rookies.

According to the announcers for the Duke-Clemson game, there is a MAJOR WINTER STORM hitting North Carolina right now.
They showed a picture of outside and there was some snow falling and barely anything covered.

A friend of mine goes to school in Virginia, and he always worries when it snows there because "they don't know how to deal with snow." The last time he was in New York, he took his BMW off the road for his big, old, fucking ugly truck just because of the threat of a couple inches.

I would rather drive through eight inches of snow on a flat road than white knuckling it down a hillside with two inches of snow in New Brighton, Pennsylvania.

I fucking hate snow and hills.

    ahh, the usual.

    - there were people wearing sandals at kroger here in atlanta. so, yeah, "overreacting"? no.
    - know who overreacts around here? the friggin yankees who act like they've never driven a car before when they get on the connector. yeah, there's a shitton of cars around you. big whoop. deal with it.

You know there are plenty of cars in yankee land as well . . .

It's the damned Californians who can't drive for shit in the snow up here. I hate them. They drive up housing costs and cause accidents. :p

yes. however...having driven in NYC, it's freaking JV compared to atlanta, and it shows when the transplants try to get around. kinda sad.

yep, it's not a grid around here. and yep, the numbers only go up to 28. break out the diapers.
