It's Gillispie for UK

Speaking of recruiting, Gillispie got his first commitment at UK today. Some kid from the Class of 2009. Tubby had hardly begun to recruit the 2008 class before he left.

UK fans are going to love this guy. He may be the only guy in the world more ate up with basketball than them.

Is he any good? Because if he's not, then the boosters would complain it's not a McDonald's All-American. He would just be "some kid."

He's a 3* kid who was named to the adidas Top 15 team for their camp or whatever. And one of the recruiting "gurus" said he's one of the fastest rising recruits in the class.

Add that to the fact that John Lucas was quoted as saying that Gillispie has been in Houston for two days working on Jai Lucas.

Like I said, dude is ate up with basketball.

Supposedly, there are rumors floating that Texas A&M will release DeAndre Jordan from his LOI. I heard this from a UK fan/booster earlier today, but all I have seen and read is that Jordan remains committed to the Aggies.

    Is this legit?

Just discovered this online -- I'd worry if I'm an Aggies fan.

Hack, a guy I work with told me that Gillispie said he would not raid A&M to take away the players he signed while there.

Of course he'd take Jordan if he got out of his LOI and followed Gillispie, and I'm quite sure BG will talk to Jordan while at the Derby Classic. But I think Gillispie is leaving that decision to Jordan.

Interesting. I'm sure UK fans going to the Classic will just be polite and cordial to avoid trying to influence Jordan in any way, shape or form. :D

Most likely, given that he will be their only recruit there, won't he? Are Patterson and Lucas playing?

Who's UofL got in the game?

No, according to the last rosters I saw, UK's got A.J. Stewart and Mike Williams playing. The only Louisville recruit is George Goode. I don't think there's time to add Preston Knowles to the roster.

EDIT: Just found out that Knowles was, indeed, added to the roster.

 will be my reaction when someone, anyone, absolutely posterizes Mike Williams in the DFC.

AJ Stewart will be an intriguing guy though. No one has seen him play.

That Goode kid is supposed to be pretty good isn't he?
