The numbers for "The country is going to hell" might well have been reversed. Not many Democrats follow up that sentiment with "So we need an armed revolution."

Yeah. When Republicans are in office the poll numbers of people saying they are considering moving to Canada goes way up.

You're right. They follow it up with things like the Occupy Wall Street movement and the riots whenever the WTO bigwigs come to town.

May day rally in Seattle got pretty crazy. Received almost no media attention.

And, folks have been killed in response to Obama's election?

It's a custom job. Same as this Hello Kitty AR.

But it speaks to the larger point that somebody made about making real firearms look like toys. And it's not just custom jobs that look like something a kid would play with. The pink gun market has exploded in the past couple of years. Why anybody would want a gun that looks like a toy, I'll never understand.

Yeah, that doesn't make sense to me either. Although a friend of mine recently was ga-ga over the pink gun she bought a gunshow, so maybe it's a chick thing. Maybe they think the pink paint job will make it shoot quieter. Who knows?

Funny thing is, they've done everything possible to make toy guns look LESS realistic. Every one of them has that orange tip now, and if you wander down the toy aisle you won't see too many that aren't some shade of fluorescent.
The original Megatron Transformers toy (from 1984), which transforms into a pretty realistic-looking pistol, has also become damn near impossible to find because it looks too much like a real pistol. A lot of shops and sellers won't even sell it now because of the laws regulating the appearance of toy guns. It's also part of the reason why Megatron has changed from a gun in the original Transformers series to a tank, a plane, a T-Rex, and any number of incarnations in more recent versions of the show.

Gun companies believe, wrongly, that pink guns will be attractive to female buyers. Most women who shoot don't want a pink gun, though.

And they worked just as hard as the Boston Marathon bombers.

Isn't one of the companies marketing lines something like "Just because it's concealed, doesn't mean it can't be pretty?"

So, firearms manufacturers are making guns they think will appeal to buyers? A potential new market of buyers even?

How dare they. What will these evil bastards do next?
