So ... the First Amendment is terrific, unless and until it messes up something you like?

I don't care about the story either way. It's another fucked-up TV news drama, though. Until the next one.

It would be quite the statement:

Religion is out, assault rifles are in.

    Let's do this!

It can also be used as a history lesson to teach about the Second Amendment. See? Win-win!

If you don't want Christmas discussed, don't put on a play with "Christmas" in the title.

That was more or less the plot of a tremendous episode of Bob's Burgers.

    You guys know I'm liberal....

I also happen to be Christian...

Went to my child's school concert last night....

All mentions of Christmas removed or changed to 'holiday'....

But the kids sang an entire song about Hanukkah.

There's some great irony in the fact Hanukkah is a cultural but not technically a religious holiday. It should be by all accounts a relatively minor holiday, but it's proximity to Christmas is the reason it gained prominence in the modern era. There's some irony in the fact Christmas is around this time possibly because it matched with the timing of some holidays already in place.

Which shouldn't happen. Remove all of the religious holidays, not just Christmas.

It isn't Christmas break any more. It is winter break. And it shouldn't be a Christmas play. Don't like it? Want your religion in school? Too fucking bad. Send your kid to a private school.

(That second paragraph is not directed at Lugnuts. It is directed at those who think Christmas plays belong in public schools.)

There is no reason to have a "winter break" in the public schools. Time to cancel all of them.
