It really is over. CBS whacks Packer.

It's not like Packer didn't deserve to be canned, but at least he had some insights and opinions. Kellogg is just your basic, generic analyst -- nice guy who doesn't really say anything. What a bland pair he and Nantz are going to be.

When I saw the title of the thread, I thought someone had killed Brett Favre.

Like the removal of Packer, but Kellogg.... jeez.

Wouldn't switching Packer for Bilas be trading one insufferable SOB for another?

And you'd still have an ACC fluffer on the broadcast. You'd just be switching schools.

Thank goodness. This move is about 10 years overdue.

Maybe, but I'll always cut Bilas some slack for the way he eviscerated Le Batard on DLB's radio show.

I'm gonna miss ol' Billy ... just like I miss the puss from that infection the doctor lanced.

I'm glad to see that foof Packer gone.

Clark Kellogg does not belong as a network's primary color analyst.

I'll miss Billy, but I promise that my aim's getting better!

Agreed. But am also guessing that CBS wants someone who will be around for several years. Raftery, in that case, probably isn't that guy.

Bye-bye Packer ... now if only we could get rid of THE Packer in Green Bay.
