It really is over. CBS whacks Packer.

What will be weird is having someone who is interested in calling the game that is being played in front of him.

Wow. I figured he'd die with the CBS headsets on. So what was the final straw, telling people the UNC-KU game was over in the first half?

    But...Clark Kellogg?

    Billy: "This job...is OVA!"

Jim: "Are you sure about that?"

    Billy: "Yes, it is over."

I didn't care for Packer, but at least he made a comment a few times a game that would make me see something that I was not noticing.

Do I think Kellogg will do the same? Ummm, no.

Kellogg will just "steal some minutes" before they pry Bilas away from ABC to do the Final Four.

He could always go back to announcing putt-putt competition.

Bilas already calls games for them in the first four rounds of the tournament. Wouldn't they be able to just have him work one more weekend if they were really interested in him?

My guess is ESPN won't let him. It's one thing to let him call a few first round games that more than likely won't be national broadcasts. It's quite another to let one of your top studio guys skip working your set to call the Final Four for another network.

I liked Packer and to bounce him for anybody but Raftery is ridiculous.
