    Believe it not, their name is because of a merger between the Hamilton Tigers and the Hamilton Wildcats, also yielding the very rare team-name hyphen. This is a little bit like when the CFL, an eight-team league at the time, had two teams named Roughriders/Rough Riders. Like, why were both Hamilton teams name after cats?
