Gaza rockets for several days (according to whomever, but who cares) begets Israeli wrath today.

On top of the 3 Israeli boys being abducted and killed, which begot the Palestinian boy being burnt to a crisp.

Which will beget ... and beget ... and beget.

Here's a video of a Gaza car aflame after a rocket attack (according to whomever, but who cares).

New York Times describes the situation as a "cycle of violence" in a photo caption:

Israelis and Palestinians are caught in another cycle of violence with little hope for a political solution.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2014/07/08/world/middleeast/hamas-vows-to-avenge-militants-deaths-in-israeli-strikes.html

Yeah, that's what it is, a cycle of violence.

Interesting side bar. In Syria and Iraq it's Hammas v Al Quida.

If my enemy's enemy is my friend, does Israel help AlQuida? Does the US help Hammas?

I'm listening to a podcast The History of the Crusades. The starting point is about 1090 AD and it's already established by then of the Shia and Shiite feud. Of course Christianity and their sects had their bloodbaths for a couple of thousand years as well. Are the troubles in Northern Ireland really that different from the troubles in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon...

  8. We just need another BS NY Times story of how Sunnis and Shias have killed each other for 1,500 years and any attempt at living in peace is a pipe dream.

Difference is Northern Ireland's troubles actually seemed to end, or at least there's been no action since the 90s. Whereas the Mideast versions of the troubles never end--doesn't matter if it's Shiites vs. Sunnis, Palestinians vs. Israelis, Jews vs. Muslims, whatever--those feuds just go on and on and on.... never with any resolution in sight.

Today's news just feels like deja vu from so many prior Israel vs. Hamas/Hezbollah/Palestinians stories--the date is the only thing that's changed.

Israel should just obliterate Gaza, then turn and tell all the punks running the show between Syria and Iraq to "come and get theirs" Israel is no match for any of them at this point, but if they sit on their hands long enough, they will.

But we know Israel isn't one to sit on their hands. They have much, much, much more invested. Something that distant neighbors don't seem to understand.

Yeah, and the two million people living there--children, women, everybody--burn em all! Right?

    Idiot.

Two million now, or 2 million over 20 years. Pick your poison. This won't end until one or the other is erased from the planet. History shows it.
