Algeria: another beheading by an Islamic group aligned or associated with Syrian Islamic State group.

While the Gitmo tortures and other abuses of prisoners in American custody don't rise nearly to this level of inhumanity and sheer cruelty and evil, did they contributed to the dulling of any standard of humane conduct ??

I note here that American prisoners in Vietnam was similarly tortured and abused but we did not emulate that behavior as standard operating procedure. Though abuses were done.
