Is this fair game?

    Honestly, I don't even know the guy's name. I just know he's an assistant coach with visiting team. He probably wouldn't remember me, either. I was just a bit taken back that he'd throw one of his players under the bus like that, especially a guy who just suffered a serious injury.

    The coach didn't throw a player under the bus. The player could have played better three years ago and had a chance at the record.

    If you don't know the guy's name, to me, it's kind of tough to use the quote. Are you sure he's an assistant coach? He could be sports info or some kind of support staff, a videographer, an intern or volunteer. Or a Daddy Warbucks booster.
    To me, if you are going to use the info, you've got to be able to tell your superiors who gave it to you.
