Is there one last great part for Gene Hackman?

The silver lining to this pissing match is that you guys keep quoting that picture with that chick's ass in it. Makes it a little bit more bearable.

That's a pretty nice resume right there.
He's had a few stinkers like "The Quick and the Dead" (which may be one of the worst movies an outstanding cast has ever made -- Leo, Hackman, Crowe, Sharon Stone, Gary Sinise), but overall, his body of work is pretty damn good.

How do you forget Bonnie & Clyde?

  9. I enjoy the Quick and the Dead. It's an entertaining B movie. Given the cast, it probably shouldn't be a B movie, but I enjoy it nonetheless.

    A bit of a threadjack:
Did anyone else see the Marlon Brando bio over the weekend?
I think he may be the one of the most overrated actors in history.
I love the Godfather - in spite of Brando. His early work (1950s) - esp. On the Waterfront - was very good, but his 1970s stuff on flat out stunk.
The guy was a prima donna who never bothered to learn his lines and tried to ad lib with crap. One scene in Apocalypse Now, he ad-lib a speech and delivered something like a 40-minute rant that was cut down to like two minutes for the movie. He was supposed to show up for filiming having looked at the script and in Marine shape. Instead he showed up overweight and with no idea what the hell the movie was about.
    Sheesh!
As good as Gene Hackman is - I think Brando is every bit as bad.

Who wouldn't want to see Norman Dale, 20 years after Hickory, pacing the Carolina Cougars sideline dressed like this:

One of the greatest character actors in the business. He never got the best lead parts because he was gruff looking but the man can act.

Yeah, his role in the French Connection was a terrible part. ::)
