Is there anything new under the sun?

I'm trying to write this game recap from the last weekend of our prep FB season - local kid suffered some rough closed-head injuries in a rollover in May - didn't get to play his senior year and the coaches agreed to let him score a touchdown for free at the end of a blowout. It's heartwarming, I suppose, but just last week I heard about another situation, except it was an equipment manager who had an intellectual disability or something like that.

I'll have been in this business five years in January. Is it possible I'm already getting jaded?

    Ugh.

    I blame Geno Auriema.

I'm not sure what you're saying. If the game was a boring blowout write about something else. There is something new out there, you just have to have the confidence to go find it at the expense of following the herd.

Maybe the vehicle the kid was in wasn't crashworthy.
