Is the Media Vilifying Black Athletes?

Break down the percentages however you like. I'm just making the point that if blacks -- or any ethnic group -- are in the majority, they're going to get vilified more. It's the plain mathematics of it. What I love is the knee-jerk reaction of some people to any form of intense criticism like this. The first question they ask isn't, "Is this criticism justified?" The first question they ask is, "Who's doing the criticizing." And if the person comes from a different race/ethnic group, well, then he/she obviously must have a "problem."

Perhaps our National Vilification Index needs a more comprehensive algorithm.

You did not say that though. You said 60 % of pro athletes are black and 40% of Pro athletes are white for a total of 100% . That leaves no room for latins which comprise at least 25 % of MLB.

I understand your point but you need to be more accurate in making it.

The question is, "Are the media vilifying black athletes?" "Media" is plural.

I'm not vilifying black athletes. I don't think I really vilify anybody. Villains tend to vilify themselves. TP, my point was that the title of the thread contains an ironic grammatical error.

Plural agreement is at once the least - and the greatest - of sportsbruh's troubles. Ironic, no?

    Nice post.

It just seems to me that Amerikka is going after the black male athlete to tarnish him.

Granted Vick fought dogs - so what - he didn't kill anybody.

Pacman is crazy - he deserves what he gets.

    O.J. was set-up

Barry Bonds DID create steroids and wasn't the only one.
