Maureen Dowd is no more plugged in than any of us. Really. She knows a lot of big time people, but she's no reporter anymore, and nobody would possibly be stupid enough to give her real information.
Much of the "reporting" in some of Dowd's columns during the primaries was done by a paid assistant.
According to rumors (live by 'em, die by 'em), her Clinton fetish stems from Bill's refusal to get it on with her when Dowd was White House reporter in the early '90s.
Imagine that on your tombstone; "Too Crazy for Bill Clinton to &%$#"

Is that the same reason she's ripped the crap out of Gore and Bush?

Dowd's obsession with feminizing every male Democrat borders on psychotic.

And to crossthread, is she hotter at 40 than 20?

You do know that Bob Somerby, the Daily Howler guy, was the third roommate at Harvard with Al Gore and Tommy Lee Jones.
Somerby and Gore have been friends ever since. So Somerby is somewhat connected.
All Dowd is doing is parroting the same talking points that the RNC is spinning out.
    • Clintons hate Obama
    • Clintons want McCain to win
    • The Democratic Party is divided
And it allowed her to call Obama outrageous names since she is just supposing what someone might have said in that scenario that she imagined.
So she isn't the one calling Obama names, it was the character that she created who is doing it.

Now if only she could have feminized Hillary.

    yeah...she's certified nuts.

But theres something about her attitude and casual nature when talking about sex that makes me want to screw her something serious.

I wanna know how to get a job like hers...y'know, writing crazy, inane bullshit every week and getting big time money to do it. Her fiction is better than J.K. Rowling's.

Mo Dowd and Bill Kristol...jewels of the NY op-ed universe, they are...

And Big Chee, be careful there...you never know what's on the inside of that bear trap.

No, it is not. Otherwise she would not turn the convention into the Democratic National Catharsis & Sewing Circle
