I was always thought she was a little unhinged, but this column is so completely over the top, I wonder why it wasn't spiked.

The column supposed McCain and Hillary doing shots as they conspire to wreck the Obama campaign.

Bob Somerby over at the Daily Howler ripped it accordingly.

    It goes on.

    Yes. Next question.

    GB beat me to it.

  5. I can't read her anymore. All she wants to write about is Hillary Clinton.

I'm not a Hillary supporter, but the way Dowd wrote about her was ridiculous. She couldn't possibly win with her. One day she was too feminine, the next, too masculine.

Do you really think it is that far-fetched to think that Hillary would prefer that McCain wins?

She's written columns like this before. Not a big fan of it, personally. But let's imagine she has more iinside knowledge into this affair than any of us, and anyone from the daily howler. Hate or not, she's pretty plugged in.

I disagree. I don't think she feels that way, but it's not beyond the pale to imagine it's true.\\

That said, the column was abysmal.

If McCain wins, she's the favorite in 2012.

Both Clintons were accused of not backing Kerry in 2004 for the same reason.

    I don't think she's conspiring with McCain.

I do think it's possible that she wants him to win.
