Yep. He could only get them four outs in the first inning when, because of errors, he needed to get them five.

Made no difference anyway because of the Royals' score.

No. You're just not 1/10th as smart as you think you are. That's always been the case.

Buehrle not saying he's retiring yet but if he does, that's a fun HOF ballot in 2021 -- Hudson, Zito, Buehrle and Burnett.

I'll start the Burnett thread. It's Mark, right?

    I'd put Hudson in.

None of them will break 20 percent.

I could see Hudson getting that many votes. 222 wins with a really good winning percentage (625) an ERA that's not unsightly (3.49) especially for his ERA, his ERA+ is 120. WAR has him retiring ranked 67th for that stat. Depending on the ballot by that point, I would assume his best competition would either be Halladay or Pettitte both in their third year of eligibility. (Not counting Clemens but it would be his ninth ballot). If Mussina and Schilling are still around, they would be on try eight and nine respectively.

Unless Ichiro decides not to go after 3,000 hits next season, Hudson will be the best first-timer. That always helps.
