Is everyone in the South obese?

The one time in my life where I really had my weight down to what I'd call an athletic level was when I broke my ankle playing basketball my senior year of college. Getting around on crutches for three months did it for me.

 

And by more south ya mean more white.

 

Good plan. All I need to do is get my paper, or any paper, to open a bureau covering my subdivision.

True. And doesn't Florida also debunk the "weather" excuse Southerners sometimes toss out?

Florida is more hot and humid than any southern state, and by a good margin. Yet it's the only state in the Southeast that does not rank near the top in obesity. Not coincidentally, it's also the only one that is not southern "culturally."

That tells me the problem is culture, not weather.
