Yes, the assembly line was a major step forward in humans' capacity to produce goods, allowing prosperous growth of the American economy and helping the U.S. become a worldwide leader. It increased production of the Model T from 100 a day to 1,000, drastically lowering costs and making cars accessible to everyone.

It led to increased wages, better working conditions, the rise of the middle class and massively increased productivity of goods across a broad swath of industries. Unskilled workers earned good wages and provided for their families.

    Stoney, apparently, disagrees.

I was not aware of anti-semitism on Ford's part.

Do you think Henry Ford invented the assembly line?

He invented the moving assembly line, with the conveyor belts being a critical part of accelerating mass production. Olds invented and patented much of the assembly line, including parts being delivered to workers who perform repetitive operations at one station.

You don't want Ford on the list? Great, put someone else there. I'll be happy to acquiesce that the 15 seconds of thought I put into might not have provided the best fourth person our fictions Mount Rushmore of Humans. Yeesh. Lighten up, Francis.
