Is anyone else as blown away by The Hold Steady as I am?

    Yep. And "Boys and Girls in America" ain't far behind. I realize Craig Finn's voice is not for everyone, though.

    He kicked much ass, as always. This was at the end of a rough week for him — his significant other has cancer I believe and he had to fly back to the east coast to be with her for treatment, then fly to Chicago for Lollapalooza, then drive down to Cincy. Played a lot of stuff from Living With the Living, but sprinkled in something from every album. (I was standing right at the stage, so I got to shake his hand during soundcheck. Pretty cool.)

    Craig Finn's unique vocal style annoys the hell out of me. But the music is pretty good at least.

    And I love Ted Leo. Did he split his forehead open this time?

    I saw him in a theater and he was great. I'm sure ina small club is much more his speed however.
