Is AdSense worth it?

Long story short, I'm starting a triathlon training series with a newspaper that's going to run four months. I was going to blog daily for their web site for a few extra bucks a month on top of the weekly columns and features I'll be getting out of it, but they're doing some technical web stuff right now and the blog idea just died. So I'm going to just blog on my own about the whole ordeal.

I like WordPress themes better and have used them for years now, but Blogger lets you use AdSense. Anyone around here ever used it? Would it be worth the little bit of inconvenience to use Blogger so I could make a little extra cash? Does AdSense really bring in any money for bloggers?
