(Figured this was a journalism topic, so I posted it here. Mods move to the Sports/News forum if you feel it needs to go)

John Adams pens this column on Monday calling for Phil Fulmer to be replaced after upteen arrests and discipline problems since their bowl game.

Tonight, the News Sentinel gives Fulmer a chance to respond (which came after Adams was on several radio shows in the SE today)

Great idea. Let's give the coach a chance to write a column that doesn't address the principle and serious charge levelled against his program, and simply serves as a booster letter in a newspaper.

This is preposterous tosh, as indicated by the comments on the Fulmer column.

Well, let's look at the bright side: it did paint him to be the clueless fool he is.

Now that being said, just think of the web hits it generated. We'll get the ad sales up, and be able to provide increased coverage if we can get coach Fulmer to be a regular, unpaid, contributor.

If this pans out, we should send him a thank you note for saving the industry.

    Fulmer can write?

That was my other thought, that this was done by the same person that fills out his coaches poll each week.

Wow! Is Fulmer seriously making that offer? That would be awfully nice of him...

That's because it's never happened. What he says instead is, "sheeeeee-it, we can get cha' off a murder charge if yer on the two-deep."

Fulmer worked like heck on writing that column.

Well, we know Fulmer can't coach.

It's a classic straw man. Taking a reporter to an in-home visit would violate NCAA rules.

  12. John Adams has written well since the Alien and Sedition Acts.
