Interesting: All England club admits looks decide who gets Centre Court

Gotta agree with Elliotte here. I'm not surprised it happens, but I am surprised they got people to admit to it.
But I have to ask, are they that worried about drawing crowds to Centre Court that they think they have to put attractive women on it over top talent? If tennis patrons are that determined to see beautiful people rather than good tennis, I have to think they'd be able to find those players on the outer courts.

 

It's more about the BBC audience. They apparently believe (and I suspect rightly) that they'll attract more viewers with more attractive, ahem, racket handlers.

As others said, I'm not surprised at all it happens, but I am surprised anyone would admit it.

Hey, someone was saying earlier how Safina has lost weight.

I think they're more concerned with making sure Andy Murray's on third every game he plays. Primetime viewing, baby.

 

She has lost weight, dammit! But I don't know that that puts her on the list of hotties in the tennis world.
