Not if the special section wraps the front ...

Not if the section wrapped around 1A.

Eight-page special section, paginated M1-M8. That might have fooled Newseum.

Most papers use an automated system to get their front to Newseum, so Newseum always gets A1/1A/1whateverthefuckyoucallit regardless of wrappers.

I'd still tease it on the front, if only a very small item in the rail. Can't fully explain it; just feels wrong to ignore it even if a wrap. If that's the rationale, why refer to anything off A1 if it's not really "A1"?

You do need a reefer on 1A to tell people about the wrap, even though 1A is inside. For example, you pick up Section A at Starbucks and then you know there's a wraparound lying around that you can grab for free, too.

I can tell you from a really bad personal experience that if you're doing a wrap, you should ALWAYS have a refer to it on the "regular" 1A. Always. For a sports-related wrap, you should refer to it off the sports front too.

Burnett is going to pay for Manning's child's college tuition for No. 18.

The special section was wrapped around the paper. It was quite an impressive effort.

It was one of the first things I saw. Like you said, pretty obvious.
