    Given some of the comments I've heard here in the Chicago area, it's amazing Obama was elected Senator. It seems like we should be past this now, but my wife has relatives who lived through the Chicago blockbusting and white flight, and there are people around my age who live around me that heard nothing but f-in' n-bombs in their house when it came to black people, and have completely internalized that thinking. I still think Obama can win, and win big, but there is going to be a certain number of people who will never vote for him, under any circumstance, because of race.

    Since we don't know the context of the photo there, d_b, I'm not sure it makes whatever case you and Norm Ball are trying to make. Is the anthem being played? Is someone reciting the Pledge of Allegiance? Has it just begun? Has it just ended? Why is no one looking at the giant flag?

    And why wouldn't Senator Obama put his hand on the Bible to take an oath?

    Regardless of whether he has his hand over his heart in the photo, I'm not sure we want a giant leading our nation.
