There's no way in hell Des Moines Water Works is going to be destroyed. They built a 31-foot wall around the plant to keep it dry. Contrary to rampant rumors, Water Works is still running and drinkable water is still available. The Des Moines, Cedar, and Iowa Rivers are the big ones everyone is watching right now. The Cedar is expected to crest around 2 a.m. EDT. The Iowa River in Iowa City sometime on Wednesday, and things are going to get dicey in Downtown Des Moines Wednesday morning/afternoon when the water from Saylorville come rushing down stream.

Here's a video clip from the Courier on the Cedar River: http://www.courierwebcasts.com/play.php?vid_id=1013&file=NEWwaterloobridge.flv

    That video is absolutely crazy.

That house gets sucked right off the river bank and floats downstream. I wonder where the person who is doing the videotaping is at? I wouldn't want to be close to that lake during the video, because it looked like an absolute raging torrent.
