InDesign-- resizing photo

So I pulled a photo onto the page at 100 percent, forgetting to resize it.

Do I need to resize the pic in Photoshop? Or can I alter the size once it's on the page in InDesign?

You can resize it in ID, using the white arrow tool.

Could've fooled me. I try resizing it, and it won't let me distort it. (i.e. I can't bump it up to 101 percent vertically and 100 percent horizontally.

Use the white arrow on an edge. Drag accordingly. (BTW, do this with shift held if you'd like to resize equally)

But why would you want to distort a photo?

To fill out the box. Everyone's done it.

And right now, I'm just playing with the program, not actually doing this for a professional project.

Isn't there a setting on ID that lets you turn off the forced proportionality for sizing photos?

And my rule of thumb is you can bump a photo up to 108 percent, and of course down as much as you need.

Sorry, I'm just really against running a photo that's disproportionate. Even if it's only 1 percent off. But that's how you do it.

I rarely, rarely do it. But I wanna be able to know that I can do it, if for some reason it's needed.

Sigh. Ask UTShooter or FarmerJ how they'd feel if their photo ran that way.
