His state v. federal thing is a completely irrelevant red herring. It in no way discounts the overriding points anybody's made here. I'd seen OT playing the right winger on these political debates before, but had no idea he was this much of a simple minded tool.

  2. And so we go from money to help out a few million children to communist gulags. Quite a leap.

Glad to see someone chipping in with a strawman because he sees his friends getting slaughtered on principle. Of course, liberals wouldn't know principle if it landed on them like a huge Milwaukee's Best Light can.

Just rember folks, as we go 'round and 'round in circles with OT, this is a guy that doesn't believe in evolution. I'm not saying this just to be a jerk. It's just an insight on his mentality and his inability to let facts influence his beliefs/opinions.

It's really funny watching you try to change the subject. Suddenly state vs. federal (an error you introduced to the discussion, no less) is a red herring.

Actually, it's an insight on how badly you need to change the subject.

  7. Aren't you the one that brought up the tobacco companies? I swear, your logic makes me dizzy.

Actually, I think it says everything that needs to be said about you.

It's still money coming from the federal government. If it wasn't, it couldn't be vetoed by the president.

Another nice try at changing the subject. And, again, while it's a nice try, it's not a good try.

    old_t,

So the federal government doesn't give money to help fund public schools? What kind of program is the No Child Left Behind? Is that a state or local program?

No, one of your lackeys (I think andyouare? or IU90, but I'm not going back to look for it) brought up how it's not going to cost anyone anything because all the money is coming from a cigarette tax.

If your reading comprehension is so bad that you can't even follow the thread you really should find a thread more suitable for your abilities. Something like "What song are you listening to now?"

  12. That's a joke, right?
