Incentivizing schoolwork

While I always tried to be careful not to reward my kids for carrying out what I considered their basic responsibilities -- schoolwork, cleaning up after themselves, etc. -- providing incentives for going "above and beyond expectations" can work well, too.

 

I got a 7 and 8 year old to fold and hang up all their laundry for a pack of football cards each. If that's bribery, count me in.

 

I was just poking fun at Dick and propensity to over analyze and overblow things.
Intended in honest jest, not to be mean-spirited.

 

That's the thing about forks in the road - life is full of them. All of us could have wound up in an infinity upon infinity of different places.
