In Texas, it's ok to shoot an escort who doesn't have sex with you

Good customers like you get the privilege of paying later. For most of us, it's cash up front.

Well no, that is a good. You can only shoot people when they don't deliver services.....

Like my old Scoutmaster used to say, "No tickee, no shirtee."

Guess you can't say that anymore, huh?

In Texas, anyone can shoot anyone. Just check out the 11 pm news. People don't need a reason to open fire. Happens every single day.

The escort should have chosen to be gay.

I believe you're confusing Texas with Chicago.

Actually - according to the story anyway - you can shoot people who take you property. Doesn't say anything about services delivered - or not delivered.

Technology saves lives -- she should have just conducted all business through Square and PayPal like they do in the Bay Area. Then he could have just bad-Yelped her.

Yes, because if you're engaging a sex provider, you want to leave an easily-traceable record of your transactions.

I was reading a board that has consumer reviews of providers (just out of passive prurient curiosity) and was shocked to learn that some providers now require references before they'll do business with a potential client.

There are so damn many things I don't understand any more.

Maybe she truly was only offering companionship?

Oh, it gets crazier. There are actually services that customers can join (and pay for) that pre-screen said customers for the providers.

I am all for historic preservation, but perhaps Texas should write some laws that are more in line with the 19th century or so, for starters.

Oh, and the "I didn't mean to kill her when I shot her in the neck" excuse is my second favorite behind the "It was just a joke" defense.
