I've heard that this movie is amazing, and that this actress will be a breakout star a la Ellen Page, from a movie critic friend.

And yes, I think it can.

Now 17 years old... Very gray area.

But for the writer to invoke Polanski... just shows how short-term the memory is of the jackasses in our country.

    He sodomized a 13-year-old.

If it had been MY 13-year-old, I would have followed him to Europe and I would have tortured him, then killed him.

A 17-year-old is NOWHERE in the same galaxy as a 13-year-old.

It can be consensual. That's a whole different issue from legality or propriety.

So if a 4-year-old says it feels good and it's OK.... that's fine by you?

There is a reason they are minors. Because, legally, they can't make an informed decision on such matters.
