    The correct term is alternate, and yes, it is used here in Canada.

    Not in the rooms I've played or coached in, but obviously some do use that term.

    Yup, JC ... gonna chime in and say 'alternate' is interchangeable with 'assistant,' around these parts and the B.C. Interior.
