In an interview on Monday arranged by Republican strategists...

And, let's not pretend that PR firms don't work with the media every day.

Even in something like Michael Sam coming out, he had a PR firm managing it right? Now, in the follow up, what was the process stories, you might read about the PR firm, and lawyers involved, but not in the initial story.

And, after all kinds of breaking news, the media is contacted by PR firms offering up experts who can speak authoritatively on the subject at hand. I've never seen an article mention that a PR firm put the media in touch with the expert.

I think you realize that to get that one example would mean combing through 30 or 40 stories where strategists are cited for other reasons unless someone just got lucky, and no one has time to devote to that. So you assume that since that hasn't been produced, you're right. You can't prove it isn't the case, either. You just can prove that using your limited search, it hasn't been done. Your argument is disingenuous at best and downright asinine and deceitful at its worst.

Lol. You guys are journalists. Has anyone here ever written a sentance like that? Been asked to add it by an editor? Added it to a story you were editting?

With all due respect MC, not one of those examples is like the one in the Times and the AP regarding the interviews w/ Bergdahl's fellow soldiers.

They're all inherently political stunts covered as such, complete with explainers saying so.

But, still not the same thing as what the Times and AP did. That they have something in common doesn't change that.

You're right. None of those examples included the words "strategist" or "Monday" or "in an" and the word "orchestrated" is clearly not a synonym of the word "arranged."

This thread certainly is being carefully orchestrated.
