I'm pissed about the soccer loss, and this is a rant.

I don't vouch for that one, either. Just thought the other "all-purpose" threads have done a good jon ib covering every aspect of that sport to board members, the World Cup one included.

A_F, why are you pissed. Americans do well, then tank, do well, then tank. They did well in 2002 so that means in 2006, the Americans ... yeah, predictable outcome. And it's not like the Czechs are Canada.  :D

    I'm xenophobic because I don't like soccer?

I don't think spinning is trying to be xenophobic. He may just not like soccer.

And I want to see every player's name in the game story. That also makes for nice scrapbook material.

To say that losing a soccer match makes us "a laughing stock around the world" is just flat-out totally fucking stupid.

It makes that team "a laughing stock around the world" at least.

Don't like soccer, then why click on a link to a soccer thread?

A_F I feel for you, they showed nothing. They didn't even look like they wanted to be there.

I don't understand why the US sends its junior team to the World Cup. Why doesn't the US send its elite team? It's no wonder the US can't win the World Cup when it sends its U-19 team.
