You forgot about taking the 6-pound onion ring from the lady at the bar at Bob's in Dallas...

Count how many times he wrote that "NFL player told *me* last night" in that column.

Does it really matter who the player told it to?

    Exactly

Well, considering it's his column, this isn't that big a deal.

We counted 6 NBC references. You think SI is thrilled? And perhaps we missed it, but how did PK talk to all these players in one day?

Six "...told me"'s in the first four pages. Add in where Jerome Bettis butted in on his phone call to tell Trotter to hang in there. Enough already.

There's this new-fangled invention. It's called the telephone. They even have ones that work wirelessly, so you can call anyone anywhere.

So columnists are now calling players after games, and players are taking there calls?

    No. They call Peter.

But to answer your actual question....I'm sorry, what IS that question? Do columnists call players? As opposed to what, driving to their houses?

Was that the same as the 'yogurt pretzel' incident? The one where he used his column to bitch out Delta Airlines for not holding the plane so Marybeth could get yogurt pretzels?

    Boom, add:

    - 5 course meal for the players at Ruth's Chris -- thanks SI expense account!
